I'm Back!!

It's been a few years since I have posted on my blog. I was on a bit of a hiatus.

Anyways....

I have a new website, here. I got out of the template 'business' and have just been concentrating on my personal interest in music, so that is what my website is all about. On my site you will find a music player that I try to add a new track to on a weekly basis, net radio channels and wallpaper downloads that are relevant to the Electronica genre. I have been listening to Electronica for 12 years now. It's truly a beautiful genre to listen to, if people would just give it a chance. ;)

Well that's all I have to say for now until next time!

Ice Storm 2008

I woke up last Friday morning to no power (it went out at 4:30 AM) and everything covered in ice, even the blades of grass on the ground was encased in ice. It had started raining the night before and things had started to freeze over then. Our Governor had called in for assistance from 4 other states (as far away as Michigan and Nova Scotia), just to have the extra man-power in case it was needed (it had turned out to be a wise decision). When I went outside Friday morning there was about ½ an inch of ice on my porch railing, my driveway (which is made out of rocks) was a sheet of ice. The ground was all white, but none of it was snow. I started up a fire in our fireplace, thankfully we, my husband, my daughter and I, have a 2nd heat source, although it wasn't very cold at the moment since it had started to become daylight.

All I could think about was the ice storm we had in 1998. That was something I did not want to relive. Back then we (meaning my town and most of Maine for that matter) were without power for 11 days (some much longer). It just strikes me as being a little funny that we got this weather again 10 years later. My daughter, Courtney, kept me updated with how bored she was, typical. All she had to keep her entertained was her iPod, how deprived huh? My dog didn't seem to like it either, nor did my 2 cats and fish. My sister ended up taking my dog for the weekend and my cats were at a neighbors.

Aside from the boredom, we just had to ride things out like before. We ended up at a motel for 3 nights (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The fireplace just wasn't keeping us warm enough. When we got back to our house this morning our indoor thermometer read 0°F, talk about BRRRRRRR eh?

Pictures can be found on my Websites homepage.

Remembering 9/11

It was 7 years ago today that 2 commerical airlines were hijacked and brought down the World Trade Center. It's hard to believe that 7 years has gone by already, because for me it feels like it was just yesterday. I remember everything about that day, where I was, what I was doing, who I was talking to. The devistation and the tragedy that happened that day will never be forgotten.

God bless to all of those who lost their lives on 09.11.01. We will never forget you.

The Day After

Last night was the big night for my daughter, Courtney and her first concert, the Jonas Brothers.
The Civic Center in Portland was jam packed with a sold out crowd (6377) of screaming, and I mean SCREAMING, girls from the age of 6 and up, my daughter being one of those girls screaming at the top of her lungs, lol. Just before the Jonas Brothers got on stage I turned to Courtney and said; "You're not going to pass out, faint, are you?". She just laughed and at that moment the screaming in the Civic Center reached the equivalent of Beatlemania in the 60's, and the Jonas Brothers rose from under the stage.
It was just insane, but I was happy for Courtney because she idolizes the Jonas Brothers and them to be her first to see in concert meant a lot to me. As she danced and sang along, I would look up at her and try to sneak a pic of her, but she'd grab my camera in true celebrity/paparazzi manor and told me "don't", lol.
I did get tons of pictures for Courtney, but with the restrictions to only being able to use digital cameras that are no more than 5 mega pixels, it makes it kind of hard to take a really good picture. I thought I would share a few that I took just the same.

My First Site(s)

This doesn't have anything to do with TranceKrazze.com, but it's something that I wanted to share anyways.

Back in 2000 I started running a P2P (peer-to-peer) server with friends of mine that I met in the Napster chat rooms. Like all the other servers, we wanted to build a Website about who we were and what we do. It wasn't until 2002 when myself and a friend of mine finally created a site called Darkside. We called ourselves 'Green Regs' because that was chat server [Green] that we all called 'home' on Napster and 'Darkside' was our 'clan', if you will. This was my very first attempt at Web design and HTML.

In 2002 I decided I wanted to create a site for just myself. My knowledge of HTML grew (well, at least I thought it had) in the 2 years since I started. This was what I was able to come up with, *Tignap. I don't know what I was thinking because I look back on it now and it's just terrible and some will see my taste in music has changed drastically. lol

*Tignap was my screen name on Napster

I can easily sit back and laugh at myself because back then I was just learning HTML (which I taught myself) and I see just how far I have come in 6 years. It's definitely a learning experience that I wanted to share with everyone. lol
